Design Philosophy
Framing is the presentation of your art. The walls of your home and office are the blank canvas on which you can convey who you are. Degas said "Framing is the artist’s reward." You are the artist creating the space that you live in. We are your artist framers. We take the time that is needed to design your frame with you. A great frame designer is like a great hair stylist who chooses the perfect haircut to frame your face and bring out the best in you. Think of us as a salon for your art.
Frame Selection
We have over 2000 frame samples that have been hand-picked from the best suppliers in the industry. If that sounds overwhelming, be assured that we have the expertise and experience to guide you to the perfect frame that will bring out the best in your piece. When you have something framed at AFS you will not wonder later if you could have found a better frame elsewhere.
Pricing
Ours is a customized product. Each piece is made with care and attention to detail. We practice the golden rule as we work and frame every piece as if it were our own. Our goal is not to be the fastest or the cheapest framer in town but to provide a quality product. Our prices have been carefully formulated to allow for a reasonable profit for us and a competitive price for you. We don’t inflate our prices. For that reason we don’t offer discounts* but our prices will always be fair (which means competitive with, or in many cases under other frame shops in the Twin Cities). You will ALWAYS get what you pay for. Mouldings range in price from $1 per foot to over $50 per foot. We don’t believe that every piece needs to be framed expensively. We take every piece of art individually and strive to work within your budget.
*With the exception of high-volume (multiple pieces same product) where we can obtain a discounted price on materials from the supplier and pass that along to you.
Turn-around Time
We believe that high-quality craftsmanship is not accomplished overnight and takes time. We don’t rush things and put on our white gloves when required. We don’t cut corners (pun intended). Having said that, We do strive to finish all our pieces in a reasonable amount of time. The typical framing project takes two or three weeks to complete. But we will bend over backwards to meet your deadlines should the need fora last-minute framing project arise.
